We are seeking to hire multiple Accountants to join our growing Audit Practice with start dates in October 2011. These are full-time positions within our organization located at 100 Chestnut Street in Rochester, NY. If candidates are interested, we also have the option for new hires to work directly in the Tax practice rather than starting out in an Audit role. Responsibilities: · Becoming familiar with the Firm's policies, procedures, and technical resources. · Assisting teams in conducting audits, reviews, compilations and other assigned tasks. · Preparing assigned financial statements as needed. · Supporting the Senior/Manager through maintaining a good working relationship with client personnel and other team members and demonstrating an awareness of the client's business. · Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization. · Prepare reports for management that outline the company's financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations. · Promptly informing the appropriate person of any difficulties that you may experience with an assignment/task that could affect our scheduled deadline. · Bringing issues for inclusion in the letter of representation or management letter to the appropriate Engagement Manager. · Performing and recording all work in compliance with our firm policies. · Developing an understanding of the standards of the profession and progress toward passing the CPA exams. Requirements: Qualified candidates should have excellent communication skills, self-confidence, and be self-motivated and capable of working productively in a professional environment. Must be conscientious, detailed-oriented and have excellent organizational skills. MBA or Masters degree in Accounting along with a minimum 3.0 G.P.A. is required. Basic knowledge of spreadsheet and database applications is required; experience with financial/accounting software applications is a plus. Internship assignments involving auditing or tax preparation experience is also a plus.
